Nuit Blanche

Seriously… is it just me or are these kind of videos just super cool? And if you know how they make such movies it’s even more stunning, check out the making of:

I’m gonna sip my red wine now and start doing some storyboards ;)

Life through a viewfinder

When I was young, I sometimes walked through the house looking through the viewfinder of my father’s old mirror reflex camera pretending that I was making movies. For some reason I find life much more interesting when it’s “framed” by a viewfinder. I’ve always been intrigued and curious about how my life would be, being a cameraman or a photographer. Sadly enough I never studied photography or video (I don’t regret many things in my life, but this one is definitely in my top 3).

I’ve got a couple of friends that are professional photographers and they inspire me a lot, I really hope to be as good as them one day! :)

Last month I joined Wannabes. It’s an ‘independent collective for rock photography’, call it a group of fun people, with great love for photography and music. It’s great because I can combine two things I love doing: listening to nice music and taking pictures ;) Click here to check out some of my concert pictures. Here’s Leki on Mano Mundo last week:

Playing For Change

“This songs says eh… No matter who you are. No matter where you go in life. At some point you’re gonna need somebody, to stand by you.” My brother sent me these two movies. To be honest, they moved me. That’s why I’ve got to share them with you. Can’t wait to see the full movie! More info at www.playingforchange.com.

Vinyls for sale

Some DJ stuff has been sold, here’s some more: I’m selling my vinyls! Here is the full list (pdf). Most of them are elektro-/dance-ish. Some of my favourites are the Tiga’s and Soulwaxes. The collection even includes the recent You can’t always get what you want – Rolling Stones/Soulwax EP. Also: Cassius – The Sound of Violence, Chemical Brothers – Star Guitar, Timo Maas – Pictures, and the hard to find Codec & Flexor – Time Has Changed

Oh, and I’m also selling the case. Best case ever. Made out of heavy duty material. If you’re interested in records, the case or the full package… contact me asap! More pics here.

Get Last.fm on your iPhone (anywhere)

Actually… it works with ANY iPhone app that’s not available in your local app store. Officially, this is not possible, but there is a workaround. Clearly Apple has made it possible to download all free items from any app store around. Here’s how:

  1. Open iTunes on your mac/pc
  2. Click the ‘Sign Out‘ option in the ‘Store’ menu
  3. Switch to an other iTunes Store (at the bottom of the store’s homepage)
  4. Go to the app’s download page and click the ‘Get App‘ button (make sure the app is free, otherwise it won’t work)
  5. A popup window will open, click the ‘Create New Account‘ button
  6. Register a new account and select ‘None‘ on the payment methods page (next to Visa, Mastercard, amex, …)
  7. All done… Your app is downloading. Just sync with your iPhone or iPod Touch and you’re done!
