Do Not Fold

It doesn’t matter how cool a commercial is, I’d probably forget about it a half hour later. But some commercials make such an impression on me that I keep thinking about it for the rest of the day. Last weekend I saw the BMW commercial: Sunset blvd. I know, it’s all about lifestyle, but I think this commercial is brilliant. It’s about a cabrio – which I would never buy because I live in Belgium and although I don’t remember the model, the commercial is still in my mind.

I guess it’s the commercial’s concept and the music that I really like. You see people changing the street names from some famous cities in the world to “Sunset Boulevard”. The music is really nice too, but like the commercial itself, I can’t find it on the web. The music is blues-alike with lyrics like “keep on driving baby, we’re doing just fine, I don’t know where I’m going, but that’s just fine, …”. If anyone recognizes the song or finds the commercial anywhere on the web, let me know!! I couldn’t find it anywhere, except for these similar small commercials per city: Paris, New York, Shanghai, Berlin 1, Berlin 2, Rome.

Sad story about Paul Mawhinney. Over the years he has collected the world’s largest record collection. Due to health issues and a struggling record industry Paul is being forced to sell his collection. I saw this movie a while ago but DoneBySimon reminded me about it again. Heartbreaking!

My girlfriend is graduating this week at St. Lucas Antwerp, by next week she will be Master in the Graphical Arts, sounds cool – eh :) If you are in Antwerp this or next weekend you should go to the exhibition and check out her book, it’s really good. Next friday there will be a graduation party where I will be one of the deejays. The party will be at Trix, really cool place. Be there! (facebook event)

De voorbije week was weer hectisch en druk. Het is me, sinds het begin van dit blog, nog nooit eerder voorgekomen dat het één week duurde tussen twee blogpostjes… pijnlijk :)

Ik heb besloten om te stoppen met alle projecten na de uren. Geen websites meer, geen formuliertjes, flash-projectjes… alle energie op mijn fulltime job bij These Days. Niet dat die zoveel energie eist dat ik er geen meer heb van zodra ik thuis kom, helemaal niet. Maar ik ben het gewoon beu om thuis te komen en terug achter dat scherm te gaan zitten tot ik in mijn bed kruip. Mensen die dat niet begrijpen mogen zelf eens proberen.

Gelukkig kon ik gisteren de week afsluiten met een mooi optreden van Milow in De Roma. Gekend oa. de hit “You don’t know” en “Dreamers and Renegades”:

In het voorprogramma, Racoon. In Nederland blijkbaar heel bekend, verdiend, want dat was eigenlijk zeker even goed als Milow.

Onlangs Juno gezien, mooie film… en nu met valentijn van vorige donderdag in’t geheugen krijg ik een emotionele bui en post ik de laatse twee minuten uit de film Juno:

Echt mooie film. Ook de muziek is een aanrader!

“Jumpen is dood.”, hoor ik net op Koppen. Lijkt me gek, aangezien ik dat eigenlijk nog maar een dik half jaar ken. Maar blijkbaar is’t echt waar, want Tecktonik is de nieuwste hype. Vanuit Parijs overgewaaid als cool en hip en kijk – voor je’t weet zitten de boyz ‘n girlz in België en Nederland ook te dansen.

Doet me een beetje denken aan Michael Jackson zijn movekes van toen. Ben benieuwd waarmee ze binnen een half jaar gaan afkomen, StopDancing?
