Aardvark

Everyone has been there: there is a question that’s bothering you but you can’t find the answer. You could Google for the answer, but this question is so specific that it would take ages to find it. It would be awesome if you could ask someone who knows, someone who’s specialized in the matter. Well, wait no more! Because there is a neat web2.0 service that solves your problem.

The concept is simple, you add an extra friend to your IM service and fire away. Aardvark works on MSN Messenger, Gmail chat, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, Hotmail, Windows Live and since recently on the iPhone as well! So how does it work? Once you added Aardvark to your contacts-list in your IM service, you just ask it a question. Aardvark will try to find the subject of the question and sends the question trough to people. Within minutes, you get an answer by some who knows about the matter. Super simple and brilliant!

When you register for the service you’ve got to enter a couple tags/topics on what you wish to answer questions about if they are asked to you. Here are a couple of mine: CSS, internet, iPhone, Javascript, photography, PHP and web development. I’ve used Aardvark dozens of times, yesterday I asked a question about where I should book my hotel in Berlin, Germany.

Wishlistr

I while ago I had a great idea for a web2.0 startup. To create a site where people can make wishlists. But ofcourse, it’s already here: Wishlistr. Check out mine, here ;)

The future of mobile

Bolt is another Walt Disney animation movie about animals and will be in theaters by next Friday (November 21). Bolt is a dog that plays an action hero in a television show, but doesn’t realise it’s all fake. When he’s accidentally shipped to New York the adventure begins.

Now, you’re probably wondering why the title of this post is “The future of mobile”? Well, while people in London are getting ready for the next Carsonified FOM event, I found a neat app on my iPhone and realised that the future of mobile is already here. So Bolt is a movie. But it’s also an iPhone app. The people at Walt Disney made an iPhone app to promote the movie. It’s a game, but most of all a place to check out the trailer.

That’s so clever. They made a free iPhone app where you can play a fun game with the accellerometer, and also made it possible for the user to view some trailers. So as I said before, the future of mobile is not about a device, it’s about location. It’s about bringing your app or product to the masses, instead of getting the masses to your product!

The first tweet.

Minorissues gave me a tip on how to get your ID on twitter. Seems like I’m number 6965402. Just take a random tweet of yourself, go to it’s detail page, copy the tweet-ID from the URL and change it with the ID in this URL. In the user part you can find your ID.

After some research, I found the first – still active – twitterati, seems like these tree tweets are the firstones. [update] This site has listed them properly.

What do I want to do?
