Belgian photographer Wim Tellier was the first to create an art installation on Antarctica, with 6 pictures of 800m2, covering 30.000m2 of snow and ice. More pictures here and here. We (These Days) made his website where you can buy pieces of the photos of 80cm2.

Some inside information about the project:
- 5 months
- about 2 months development
- 6 psb files (Photoshop large document format), about 16 Gb each, in total 30000m2
- used After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Premiere and Dreamweaver to the limit
- photos from children from all over the world (6 continents)
- development in AS3, Javascript, .NET, Fluorine (PureMVC framework)
- monster prints by PPP in high resolution
- full screen H264 video
- expositions in Antarctica, Antwerp and New York
Indien je’m nog niet kent, Ron Mueck is een beeldend kunstenaar die levensechte sculpturen maakt. “Bweik, kunst”, zeg je? Wacht! Check echt deze foto’s eens, want ‘t is echt knap. De man is gewoon goed. Geen grijze stenen beeldjes of buine houten ventjes, echt vlezige figuren met echt haar, levensechte puisten en mega veel detail.
Ik ben ooit (toevallig) naar een tentoonstelling geweest van hem in Londen en kende hem toen nog niet, maar dat veranderde snel, want die dingen zijn me echt goed bijgebleven. ‘t Leuke is dat hij soms speelt met groottes en dat het super echt is, maar dat kan je ook zien op de foto’s. Mr. Mueck…. respect!
Valt het echt op dat het woord ‘echt’ echt wel veel wordt gebruikt in deze blogpost? LOL
