Spielzeugland

Last week I went to Berlin. I wasn’t been there before so I did all the typical tourist attractions. It’s an amazing city, with loads of hints to it’s history and weird looking traffic lights.

spielzeugland

In the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum, I saw this (short) movie: Spielzeugland (Toyland). It’s about a friendship between two boys in 1942 where one boy believes his Jewish friend is going to “Toyland”. I loved it and even took a picture of the ending titles because I loved the music as well. In the mean time, back home, I searched for the musician’s name and found out that the movie actually won an Oscar!

The full movie (14 minutes) is available online and can be watched here. It’s not subtitled, but if you understand German a bit and have a moment, you should definitely watch it.

Köln to Genk in 3 minutes

As you know, These Days colleague Pieter and I went to Germany a couple of weeks ago. On the way home Pieter had the idea to make a stop-motion movie from the trip-home. He ended up with I think over 2400 pictures which resulted in this movie. Make sure to check it out until the end (I’m in it) ;)

Earlier that weekend I made one to, but much shorter, check it out:

Germany

Not many posts lately because it’s summer, everyone is on vacation and so do I once and a while. Last weekend: Germany. Actually, I thought that Germany wasn’t my cup of tea but it turned out quite different. Koblenz and most of all Cologne are two nice cities. Cologne is definitely the place to be when it comes to shopping! Everywhere: loads of Apple retailers, Muji shop, Tashen shops, Diesel, many, many H&M stores, Crumpler, a couple Fossil stores, etc… practically any shop you can imagine, it’s there! Have a look at the pictures here. It was nice!
