Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.
Ik ken het nog maar een tijdje, maar ‘t is al in 2006 aangekondigd en vanaf maart te koop, de PLEO. Een beetje de tamagotchi van 2007, een robot-dinosaurus. Ugobe is ver gegaan om de eigenaar van zo’n pleo het gevoel te geven dat hij een echte baby-dino in huis gehaald heeft. De robot bevat veel sensoren die zorgen voor realistische gezichtsuitdrukkingen en reacties. Hij onthoud ook dingen en leert spelenderwijs nieuwe dingen bij.
Voor ongeveer 350 dollar heb je een Pleo in huis. Een echte hond kost al niet veel minder, en die moet je elke dag uitlaten. Aan jou de keuze :)
