It doesn’t matter how cool a commercial is, I’d probably forget about it a half hour later. But some commercials make such an impression on me that I keep thinking about it for the rest of the day. Last weekend I saw the BMW commercial: Sunset blvd. I know, it’s all about lifestyle, but I think this commercial is brilliant. It’s about a cabrio – which I would never buy because I live in Belgium and although I don’t remember the model, the commercial is still in my mind.
I guess it’s the commercial’s concept and the music that I really like. You see people changing the street names from some famous cities in the world to “Sunset Boulevard”. The music is really nice too, but like the commercial itself, I can’t find it on the web. The music is blues-alike with lyrics like “keep on driving baby, we’re doing just fine, I don’t know where I’m going, but that’s just fine, …”. If anyone recognizes the song or finds the commercial anywhere on the web, let me know!! I couldn’t find it anywhere, except for these similar small commercials per city: Paris, New York, Shanghai, Berlin 1, Berlin 2, Rome.

De laatste tijd is er echt geen bal op tv. FC Nerds, Mijn restaurant, Sara, Can you Duet, dat zijn de kwaliteitsprogramma’s van tegenwoordig. ‘t Ergste is dat je toch blijft kijken en pas achteraf beseft hoe stom zo’n programma is. Maar toen ik vandaag het online boekske bekeek was ik effe in de war.
The Motorcycle Diaries, The Beach, The Matrix en Catwoman spelen vanavond op de vlaamse zenders. Ik geef toe, ook niet allemaal de geweldigste films die er zijn. Maar The Motorcycle Diaries heb ik nog nooit gezien en is naar ‘t schijnt heel mooi; The Beach heb ik al te veel gezien maar is beter dan Catwoman (al wil die ook wel eens zien voor de fun); en The Matrix is een ongeloofelijk goeie klassieker die ik zeker nog eens wil terug zien.
Een paar maanden klote-televisie en dan op één avond moeten kiezen. That sucks (sorry for my vocabulary). Wou dat gewoon effe kwijt :)
The Simpsons, zo belachelijk dat het soms echt wel grappig is. Ik zag net Homer zeggen tegen Flanders: “Could Jesus could make a burito so hot that he himself could not eat it?”. Schitterend :)
Zo’n quotes maken het echt af. Google bracht me bij deze fansite, waar ik ook deze quote las van grandpa: “My Homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star.”
Ge moet wel in ‘the mood’ zijn en uw verstand op nul zetten, want anders is’t echt slecht… maja, wat is er nog goed op tv tegenwoordig?
